Terms of Service
The deal, in plain English.
These are the terms for using Skyball. We've written them to be read, not skimmed past. Last updated August 16, 2026. Questions: hello@skyball.ai.
Who we are
Skyball is operated by Skyball AI, Inc. ("Skyball", "we", "us"). By creating an account, buying a plan, or uploading video, you're agreeing to these terms. If you're accepting on behalf of a school, club, or company, you're confirming you have the authority to bind that organization.
What the service is
Skyball processes volleyball video (match, practice, and beach film) and returns structured data about it: a touch log, player breakdowns, playlists, and exports. The analysis is automated and probabilistic. It reports what it could attribute and flags what it couldn't, and it will sometimes be wrong. We don't guarantee any particular level of accuracy, and the output isn't a substitute for a coach's judgment, official scoring, or officiating.
Your account
Sign-in uses your email address and a one-time code. There are no passwords. You're responsible for the people you ask us to add to your account and for what they do with it. Tell us promptly if someone should lose access (a staff change, for example) and we'll remove them.
Accounts are for people 13 and older. Players under 13 don't sign in. They appear only as roster entries created and managed by a parent, guardian, or coach, and a parent or guardian can ask us to remove their child's entry at any time.
Your film
You keep ownership of everything you upload and everything Skyball derives from it for you. By uploading video you confirm that you have the right to record and process it, including, where players are minors or student-athletes, any consents or permissions your institution, league, or local law requires. That responsibility is yours, because you're the one who knows where the film came from.
We use your film to provide the service to you and, by default, to make Skyball better: uploads contribute to training our models only after names, rosters, and account details have been stripped from them. You can opt out at any time by emailing hello@skyball.ai; from then on your film stays out of training, and nothing about your service changes.
Plans, billing, and refunds
Current prices are on the pricing page. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel, change your card, or download receipts yourself any time from Manage billing on your Account page (it opens Stripe's billing portal; sign in with the email you paid with), or by emailing hello@skyball.ai. Taxes are added where the law requires.
- Monthly plans: cancel any time; your plan runs to the end of the paid month and doesn't renew. We don't prorate partial months.
- Annual plans: if Skyball isn't working out, tell us within 30 days of your first annual payment and we'll refund it in full. After that, the year runs its course and simply doesn't renew if you cancel.
- Free tier and passes: the service itself is free (uploading, watching, and the rally cut for the whole team). A Player Pass covers one player's breakdown on one team's film, a Staff Pass up to four staff seats on one team, and a Full Team Pass one team; every pass covers match and practice film alike. Free accounts have a responsible-use line on how much film we break down each month, and passes one for the year (both on the pricing page); film past the line is kept, and breaks down when the allowance comes back or a pass covers it. If your usage is consistently program-level volume, we'll talk to you about the right plan. We won't silently bill you more.
Schools that need a purchase order and invoice instead of a card: talk to us.
Acceptable use
Don't upload video you don't have the right to use. Don't upload anything illegal. Don't resell access to the service, probe or disrupt it, or try to pull out other customers' data. We can suspend accounts that do any of this, and we'll tell you why.
Retention and deletion
Uploaded source video is kept for at least 12 months from upload, whether or not anyone on the team holds a pass. A pass ending doesn't delete anything; we're building an inexpensive long-term storage option for keeping seasons beyond that. If a program is closed (you ask us to delete it, or a legacy program-level subscription lapses), its film and derived data stay put for 3 months in case you come back, then we delete them: removed from the product immediately, with storage and backup copies aging out on a fixed schedule. Deleting a match yourself works the same way. Your derived data is exportable at any time, without asking us, and program agreements state all of this in writing.
What we're responsible for, and what we're not
We'll run the service with care and honesty. But it's provided "as is": we don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and automated analysis will make mistakes. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited.
Ending things
You can stop using Skyball whenever you like and export your data on the way out. We can suspend or close accounts for breaking these terms or for non-payment, and we'll say so rather than going quiet. If we ever discontinue the service, we'll give you reasonable notice and a window to export.
Changes and the boring bits
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email account holders before it takes effect. Continued use after that is acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. If some part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
