What we collect, and what we don't do with it.

What we collect

What you tell us: your name, email, and program details when you email us, join the mailing list, or buy a plan.
Your film and what we derive from it: the video you upload and the structured data our system produces from it (touch logs, player breakdowns, playlists, comments).
Account activity: the email addresses on your account and standard server logs (IP address, request times) that any web service generates.
Payment details, handled by Stripe, not us: when you buy a plan, your card number goes to Stripe. We never see it or store it; we see what plan you bought and whether payment succeeded.

This marketing site runs no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics scripts. There is nothing to consent-banner you about.

How we use it

To provide the service you're paying for, to respond when you contact us, to send the updates you signed up for, and to bill you. That's the list. We don't sell your information, rent it, or share it with advertisers. There are no ads anywhere in this.

Your film, specifically

We process film on your behalf. You (the coach, program, club, or parent) decide what to upload. Consents and permissions for recording, especially where minors or student-athletes are involved, are your responsibility as the person who made or obtained the film.
By default, film helps train our models, with identity stripped first, and you can opt out. Uploads contribute to improving Skyball only after names, rosters, and account details are removed. Email hello@skyball.ai to opt your film out entirely; your service doesn't change either way.
No facial-recognition matching. We don't run a face model that identifies athletes by name. In matches, identity comes from jersey numbers; in practice and beach, the system groups each player's appearances and a human on your side confirms who's who.
Access is scoped to your account. Staff you ask us to add can see your film; removing someone removes their access.

Who touches the data

We use a small set of service providers to run Skyball, each only for its job: cloud hosting, storage, and content delivery (Cloudflare), backup storage (Backblaze), GPU compute for video processing (RunPod), payments (Stripe), email (Google Workspace), and internal notifications when you submit a form (Slack). We share government or legal requests only when legally required, and we'll tell you unless the law forbids it.

How long we keep things

Mailing list: until you unsubscribe. Every email includes a way out, and hello@skyball.ai works too.
Uploaded video: kept at least 12 months from upload, on free and paid accounts alike. A pass ending doesn't delete anything (a low-cost long-term storage option for older seasons is in the works). If a program is closed (you ask us to delete it, or a legacy program-level subscription lapses), video stays 3 more months in case you come back, then is deleted: from the product immediately, with storage and backup copies aging out on a fixed schedule. Deleting a match yourself works the same way.
Derived data: kept while your account is active so your history stays useful; exportable by you at any time; deleted on the same 3-month schedule when a program is closed.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, storage lives with the providers named above under scoped credentials, and account access is gated by email one-time codes rather than passwords that can leak. No one gets to promise perfect security honestly, so we won't. But we treat your film like it belongs to someone else, because it does.

Your choices

You can export your data at any time, unsubscribe from anything we send, ask us what we hold about you, opt your film out of model training, and ask us to delete your account and its data, all via hello@skyball.ai. Depending on where you live (California residents included), some of these are legal rights; we honor them regardless of where you live.

Children

Skyball accounts are for people 13 and older; we don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Young players appear in Skyball only as roster entries created by an adult (a parent, guardian, or coach) and in film that an adult recorded and uploaded. A parent or guardian can ask what's attached to their child, or have their child's roster entry removed, at hello@skyball.ai.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll email account holders and note the new date at the top. We won't quietly swap the deal underneath you.
